Tuesday

4 days

So I emailed Scott and found out that we're over $2000 short of our food minimum. We thought that we'd be able to use this for an open bar, but apparently it's ONLY for food. Now we have to add something and there's no other way we'll be able to afford an open bar. I'm rather annoyed...

I also got a text from my mom that Jos A Bank is saying there's an extra fee for the tuxes to remain there until Friday. What the hell.

Seriously, I am over all this wedding bullshit. I just want it to be here and enjoy it. UGH

The Borrower

63 days

225 invited
106 attending
27 declined

RSVPs today:
-my former coworker from Gap, Katie
-Matt's parents' neighbors, Joe and Nellie, and their son and caretaker, Tom (declined)
-Matt's mom's friends, Liz and David
-Matt's cousins, Sean and Julie (declined)

I took Chase, one of our ushers, to get his tux measurements done today. After waiting for 30 plus minutes without being helped, we finally got him measured. Thankfully, the guy was young enough and knew how to measure and use the computer. Now, I just have to drag Ryan in to get his done.

When I got the mail, the rest of the fans had come in from Oriental Trading! I may have to switch the baskets for them and the bubbles, though.

I also got my something borrowed in the mail! My mom sent me one of my dad's name tags and here's a picture:

I also finally sent my mom the skirt for her dress! And then Chase pointed out that he was going back there tomorrow and could have brought it. Gee, thanks.

Last, the girls have found a potential house for the bachelorette! They're thinking this is the one which makes me so excited!!

Pain in the Tux

94 days

212 invited
40 attending
8 declined

RSVPs today:
-Jay & Donna, Matt's uncle and aunt
-Luke, Matt's cousin
-J.M., Matt's friend from college and
-Joslyn and Tom, my friend from high school and her boyfriend

Today I went to pick up Nicole's dress at Alfred Angelo and got a VERY pleasant surprise: ALL of the girls' dresses have come in! I picked them all up, except for Shannon's because she has a balance due on hers, and brought them home! They are beautiful!!

I then took Nick to get his measurements done in Cranston. Those men have no idea how to use a computer. It took almost an hour! In the end, everything was fine, but it was a ridiculously painful experience. Ugh

And, last, I found a different pair of cufflinks for Matt! They're going to be a surprise, though! Here is the original picture:

Obviously they'll have our initials and date, but I love them!

Penguin Suits

154 days

Currently working on: pocketfolds (51/130 done)

Matt and I were busy wedding bees today! We had two different wedding appointments that we went to.

First we went to the chapel to meet with the musical coordinator (who's also the organist) and the vocalist. We decided on the hymns, psalms, and music that would be played during the ceremony. We were also able to get a violinist (although he wasn't there) which I've always wanted! The vocalist has an amazing voice and Sherry, the organist, was great as well! Matt and I are really happy with them and excited to have one more thing checked off our to-do list!

Later we went to Joseph A. Bank to register our wedding and pick out the tuxes that the guys will be wearing for the wedding. We had already built a tux online, so it was just making sure they had all the pieces and registering the wedding and the guys. Now we'll just be sending out an email for them to get measured (at any Joseph A. Bank store) by May! Here are the tuxes that we'll be getting:

Friday the 13th

155 days

Currently working on: pocketfolds (51/130 done)

I'm really excited for tomorrow! Matt and I are going to meet with the ceremony musicians at 2 at the chapel. We'll pick out the hymns and such and I will hopefully be able to get them to play something other than Here Comes the Bride for my entrance. I LOATHE that song and would like either Pachebel's Canon to continue or use Winter from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Then, at 5, we're going to Joseph A. Bank to start looking for tuxes for the guys. Matt knows basically what he wants, but it'll be fun to see him try them on. We invited some of the groomsmen and ushers and to come as well.

I also received the blacklight pens that I ordered a while ago! I actually got them in a couple days ago, but forgot to post. I tried them out and they work really well! You can't see it on the RSVP card unless you use the little black light attached to the pen! It's such a great, simple way to keep track of the RSVPs!

I'll be sure to post pictures of the tux session tomorrow!

Planning Potpourri

165 days

This morning Matt sent out the package with my dress from ModCloth that I was going to use for the after party. I'll be getting a store credit that I can put towards the dress that I want for my shower. However, i ordered my shoes for the after party from the same site! I love, love, LOVE them and can't wait until they get here!

Matt finally got an email back from Joseph A. Bank about scheduling an appointment to look at tuxes. We are going to do it on January 14 after our consultation with the musicians from the chapel. It should be rather quick and painless since Matt basically knows what he wants (and their company has a build a tux program on their site that we used).

Matt and I ran some errands after we went to dinner tonight. We got some supplies at Michael's; more paper for the pocketfolds, Glue Dots, and the photo corners for the table menus. Then we went to Staples and they were...CLOSED. At 5 after eight, they were already closed so I have to go after work tomorrow to pick up the hard copy of my newsletter.

I also got a call earlier today from Alfred Angelo asking if I was coming to my 1 o'clock appointment this afternoon. I told the lady that I had an appointment for this Saturday; one for my bridesmaids to get measured and order their dresses and then one right after for my alterations. She said that the woman that does alterations isn't in except on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She was getting really rude about the whole ordeal even though I did absolutely nothing wrong. Long story short, I told her I'd reschedule and mine (no problem) and to knock off the attitude.

In the Valley

Matt and I went to the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley in Millbury today to meet with a potential videographer. While there, we ran a couple of other errands (this shopping center has everything).
First, we met Jesse of SureShot Videography with the hopes of hiring him for the wedding. Matt and I really only want the ceremony and important parts of the reception taped. We don't need three hours of dancing and honestly can't afford it. We have decided that we'd love to have Jesse as our videographer especially since our package will only cost $600!
Second, we stopped in Joseph A. Bank to see if the colors of the vests we wanted matched the colors of the dresses I had picked. They did! So now we are OFFICIALLY using them for the men's formal wear!
Third, I dragged Matt into Claire's to look at a pair of earrings that I had seen online. They are small hoops with rhinestones and are exactly what I wanted for the wedding. They were only $10 (they were one pair in a set of three) and will be perfect!
And last, we picked up some of the stuff from Michael's for the pearl bouquets and boutonierres. (I got the silver wire, silver, black, and pink ribbon.)

The tuxedos that Matt built online with the correct colored vests and ties. (Jean Yves Tango vests with striped Windsor ties)
 Bali Silver

 Ferrari Red

 Bali Peach

 Capri Buttercup

 Emerald Green

 Royal Blue

 Eggplant

 Bright Pink

 Black

The ushers will wear the same black as our dads, but will have striped ties that we're buying them as thank you gifts.

Decisions, Decisions

Speaking of them, Matt and I have finalized some things for the wedding. (Of course this means that I have made other decisions that I have to make.) However, here is what we have decided:

Flowers
The bouquets and boutonnieres will be made out of pearls instead of doing real flowers. They are absolutely beautiful and we'll be able to save them without adding an extra cost. Here's a link on how to make them (it's super easy)!
For our mothers' corsages, we're going to hopefully use scraps from their dresses and have them made by this seller on Etsy. (If we can't use the scraps, we'll have them made with new material in a color that matches the dresses.)
*See pictures below!

Tuxedos
We have settled on Joseph A. Bank to rent the groomsmen's tuxedos from. They are highly recommended and have all of the colors for vests that we will need.

I actually think that's all that we have decided on so far. On another note, we have an appointment with a potential videographer this Thursday. We will also be publishing the third newsletter at the end of the week, so I'll be sure to post it here.
